Sophos XGS 2100 appliance for mid-sized networks

The Sophos XGS 2100 is a 1U rack-mountable firewall appliance built for mid-sized and distributed organisations. It combines an AMD x86 CPU with a Marvell NPU to run deep packet inspection, TLS 1.3 inspection and zero-day threat protection without slowing throughput. Eight copper Gigabit ports and two SFP fiber ports handle wired connectivity. The unit ships with 8 GB of DDR4 system memory and a 120 GB SATA SSD.

Eight GE copper ports plus two SFP uplinks

Eight RJ-45 ports provide 10/100/1000Base-T links for LAN segments, while two SFP cages accept fiber modules for longer uplinks. A dedicated management port, a COM port and front USB 3.0 ports give local console and storage access. The short-depth chassis fits standard racks and includes mounting rails. No internal expansion slots are present, so all connectivity is fixed at purchase.

Sustained TLS inspection at 1.1 Gbps

Under continuous load the appliance delivers 30 Gbps firewall throughput, 16.5 Gbps IMIX throughput and 6 Gbps IPS throughput. TLS 1.3 inspection sustains 1.1 Gbps, while IPsec VPN throughput reaches 17 Gbps. FastPath acceleration offloads trusted traffic to keep latency low during prolonged sessions. The dual-processor architecture maintains these rates without performance collapse.
