SMUGDESK Mini SAS SFF-8087 to 2× SFF-8482 Adapter Cable

What this cable does

This SMUGDESK adapter converts a single Mini SAS SFF-8087 port into two independent SFF-8482 connectors. It lets you attach SAS and SATA hard drives or solid-state drives directly to a server RAID controller or storage backplane. The breakout design suits administrators expanding internal storage arrays or assembling NAS hardware. Builders needing a different port count or interface type should look elsewhere.

Signal quality under load

Anti-interference shielding protects the differential pairs so sustained enterprise workloads keep a stable link without packet loss. Fitting it in the build

Each end uses a standard latch mechanism; press the release tab and push until it clicks into the controller and drive backplane. The short tail keeps routing tidy but offers no slack for wide drive bays or distant controller slots — measure the run before ordering. A reversed insertion attempt can bend the fragile SFF-8482 pins, so align the keying notch carefully on the first try.
