The SATAGear R-SS-035SL is a 14in red internal SATA cable with a straight connector on one end and a left-angle connector on the other. It links a Serial ATA drive or optical device to a motherboard or controller card. The narrow, shielded design simplifies routing inside a desktop or server chassis while improving internal airflow compared with wide ribbon cables.

Replacing ribbon cables or adding drives

This cable replaces bulky parallel ATA ribbons or damaged SATA leads and supports data rates up to 6.0 Gbps under the Serial ATA 1.0 standard. The jump is worth it when building a system with multiple drives where cable clutter restricts airflow or when a right-angle fit is needed against a drive cage or motherboard header. It is not for external eSATA ports or devices that require a locking latch.

Sustained transfer stability

Shielding protects the signal from EMI and RFI during continuous read and write workloads such as large file copies or RAID rebuilds.
