Replaces four 1.5 V AA batteries with a switched USB-powered dummy-battery cable approximately 39.37 inches long for clocks, toys and LED lights
This USB power cable replaces four 1.5V AA batteries in devices such as clocks, toys and LED lights. It draws power from any USB charger, power bank or car adapter and includes an on-off switch for easy control. The dummy batteries act as conductors only and must be used in series.
The 39.37 inch cable length gives flexible placement between the USB source and the battery compartment. An integrated switch lets you cut power without unplugging the cable. The dummy cells contain no internal power source, so they cannot be used in parallel configurations.
Verify that your device accepts four AA cells wired in series and that the compartment has room for the dummy batteries and cable exit. The cable requires a live USB port capable of supplying the device's current draw. This eliminator is not suitable for equipment needing parallel battery wiring.
No published specifications for this item yet.
The dummy batteries are passive conductors with no internal chemistry, so they do not degrade like real cells; the slide switch is a simple mechanical part rated for typical low-current cycling.
The cable has no built-in current limiter; the practical ceiling is the 5 V USB source itself, which usually caps at 0.5–2 A depending on the charger or power bank used.
With only a metre of wire and a low-resistance switch carrying the modest currents typical of clocks or LED lights, heat rise is negligible during continuous operation.
