Boosts USB 5 V to 12 V at up to .5 A with an LED voltage display and a 100 cm cable
This USB 5 V to 12 V step-up cable lets you run a 12 V router or similar device from a standard power bank. The built-in LED display shows the output voltage so you can confirm the line is live. It accepts a 5 V 2 A USB source and delivers up to 6 W at 12 V 0.5 A through a 5.5 × 2.1 mm centre-positive plug. The 100 cm black lead gives flexible placement behind networking gear.
Instead of a wall-wart supply, you can power compatible routers, switches, LED strips or car air purifiers from any 5 V 2 A USB port. The jump is worth it when mains power is unavailable or you want a single portable source for multiple low-power 12 V devices. Do not use it for equipment that draws more than 6 W or requires a higher current than 0.5 A at 12 V. The cable is not suitable for laptops, monitors or PoE injectors.
Under continuous load the converter maintains 12 V output as long as the USB source can supply 2 A steadily. The LED display lets you monitor voltage drop in real time without a separate meter. Cable resistance over the 100 cm length is low enough for the rated 0.5 A without noticeable heating. Intermittent or weak USB ports may cause the output to sag or shut down.

The output end terminates in a 5.5 × 2.1 mm plug with centre-positive polarity, matching many routers and LED strips.
Plug the standard USB 2.0 male end into any 5 V USB port capable of 2 A, then attach the 5.5 × 2.1 mm plug to the device; do not exceed the 6 W / 0.5 A output limit.
The display draws negligible power and has no replaceable parts; it simply shows the 12 V output while the cable is operating.
