Passive uPOE injector and splitter pair

This kit combines two passive Power-over-Ethernet adapters so a single network cable can carry data and DC power to a pair of IP cameras or wireless access points. Each set includes an injector that merges a 2.1 × 5.5 mm DC input with the Ethernet line and a splitter that separates power at the device end. The passive design means input and output voltages remain identical across the link.

Voltage range and distance limits

The adapters accept 5 V, 12 V, 24 V or 48 V supplies and pass the chosen voltage through pins 4,5 and 7,8 without conversion. Reliable operation extends to roughly 30 to 40 metres or 100 to 130 feet, depending on cable quality and the load drawn by the connected device. Beyond that range voltage drop may cause instability.

Build integration and cabling

Each unit measures 18 cm end to end, keeping cable runs tidy inside enclosures or conduit. The injector presents an RJ45 male plug for the network side and an RJ45 female jack toward the cable run, while the splitter offers the reverse gender arrangement. A standard 2.1 × 5.5 mm DC jack on each side connects the local power brick, so no special power-supply module is required.
