Ruth's sister PD to 4.0x1.7mm 12V Power Cable 1M

SKU CH-P6QJ-9VKKW

Delivers 12 V from any PD-capable USB-C source to 4.0×1.7 mm devices using 20 AWG copper rated for up to 5 A

  • Delivers 12 V from any PD USB-C source
  • 20 AWG copper handles up to 5 A with less heat
  • Built-in E-Marker chip enables safe 12 V activation
  • 0 × 1.7 mm barrel fits routers and monitors
  • 1 m length gives flexible placement

Power Cable for PD Sources

This cable draws 12V power from any USB-C outlet that supports Power Delivery. A built-in E-Marker chip enables currents between 3A and 5A. The 20AWG copper conductors are thicker than standard 24AWG wire for lower heat. It ends in a 4.0x1.7mm barrel plug with positive inside and negative outside.

Suitable for 12V Barrel Devices

Ideal for routers, monitors, speakers or laptops that accept a 4.0x1.7mm DC input at 12V. Not usable if your USB-C charger cannot supply 12V or 20V PD profiles. Not for devices needing a different barrel size or polarity. Not for direct connection to a standard 5V USB port.

Trigger Voltage Requirement

The cable only activates when the source negotiates a 12V or 20V PD contract. If the charger or power bank stays at 5V, no power reaches the barrel end. This single voltage-negotiation step decides whether the cable works with your supply.

Questions about this item

Will the built-in E-Marker chip need replacement after heavy use?

The E-Marker chip is integrated into the USB-C connector and is not a user-serviceable part; if it fails the entire cable must be replaced.

What limits continuous 5 A operation on this 20 AWG cable?

The 20 AWG copper conductors are rated for up to 5 A; sustained loads at that level will hit the cable's thermal limit before the PD source trips.

How warm does the cable get when powering a 12 V router all day?

The thicker 20 AWG wire runs cooler than standard 24 AWG leads, but expect noticeable warmth at full 5 A draw — ensure airflow around the cable run.
