Passive PoE injector and splitter set

The set includes a passive injector and a matching splitter that deliver power over standard Ethernet cabling to devices lacking native PoE support. It targets installers who need to run IP cameras, access points, routers or embedded computers without local mains sockets. No active negotiation takes place, so the pair works with any compliant 10/100 or gigabit link. The power adapter itself is not supplied.

Thermals noise and power draw

Passive operation means no fan, no switching regulator and no audible noise from the adapters themselves. The injector passes whatever voltage the external supply provides across the spare pairs, up to 50 V, while the splitter breaks that voltage out again for the end device. Typical cable runs of 30 to 40 metres or 100 to 130 feet introduce negligible extra loss. Heat is limited to the resistive drop in the cable and connectors.

Bundled accessories and software impact

The package contains only the injector module, the splitter module and the EU mains plug lead; no configuration utility or firmware is included. Because the injector simply bridges the DC input to the Ethernet pairs, any 12 to 48 V source that matches the camera or access point’s own supply can be reused. The splitter’s output jack follows the same polarity as the source, so swapping the original wall wart is a direct mechanical fit.
