M.2 to PCIe adapter for NVMe drives

This adapter lets you install an M-key M.2 NGFF NVMe solid-state drive into a standard PCI Express 3.0 x16 slot. It performs a physical interface conversion without altering the drive's native speed or behaviour. The card is transparent to the operating system and requires no additional drivers. It is intended for desktop builders who want to add NVMe storage on platforms lacking a native M.2 slot.

Check motherboard generation and chipset first

Your motherboard must be Z97 or a later Intel chipset and you must be running Windows 10 or newer. AMD chipset boards are explicitly not recommended by the supplier. PCI Express x4 NVMe drives such as the PM951, SM951 or PM950 will not function on chipsets below the 9 series. Verify that the board has a free PCIe x4, x8 or x16 slot before ordering.

Supports common M.2 lengths only

The board accepts M.2 modules in 2230, 2242, 2260 and 2280 form factors. No mounting screws, thermal pads or cloning software are included in the package. Booting from the adapted drive is only possible if your motherboard BIOS specifically supports PCIe device boot; otherwise the drive will appear only after the operating system loads.
