Adapter purpose and audience

This Mini PCI-E to PCI-E adapter lets you install a Mini PCIe wireless card, SSD or other Mini Card in a desktop PCI Express slot. It targets PC builders who need to add Wi-Fi or storage to a system that lacks an M.2 or Mini PCIe socket.

Compatibility check before ordering

Verify your motherboard has a free PCIe x1 or larger slot and that the operating system is among the supported versions such as Windows 98, 2000, XP, Server 2003, Vista or 7. The adapter only is supplied; no brackets, screws or additional cables are included.

Thermals noise and power draw

The passive metal-and-plastic construction has no fan, so it adds no audible noise and negligible heat inside the chassis. Power is drawn directly from the PCIe slot to run the installed Mini Card, with no external power connector required.
