Five-step-up modules convert 2.5 V–9 V inputs to selectable 5 V, 8 V or 12 V outputs with up to 1 A at 5 V
This pack contains five identical step-up modules that raise a low DC input to a selectable 5 V, 8 V or 12 V output. They suit hobbyists and engineers who need a compact, adjustable regulator for battery-powered prototypes or sensor nodes. Each board arrives new and ready to solder into a custom circuit. The default output ships at 12 V.
Quiescent draw is about 1 mA with the LED disabled and rises to roughly 1 mA extra when the indicator runs at the default 12 V setting. Under load the boards deliver 5 V at 1 A, 8 V at 0.7 A, 9 V at 0.7 A or 12 V at 0.5 A from a 5 V source, and 5 V at 1 A, 8 V at 0.5 A, 9 V at .45 A or 12 V at .3 A from a 3.7 V lithium cell. Input must stay below the chosen output voltage and above 2.5 V.
The modules accept any DC source between 2.5 V and the set output level, so they pair with single lithium cells, twin alkaline cells or a regulated 5 V rail. Output pins provide the selected fixed voltage for microcontrollers, wireless modules or small actuators. No heatsink, fan or large enclosure is included; the bare PCB fits tight spaces but offers no reverse-polarity or short-circuit protection. Builders needing isolation, higher current or a wider input range should look elsewhere.
No published specifications for this item yet.
Connect the input voltage between 2.5V and the chosen output level, then bridge the onboard pads to select 5V, 8V or 12V; the step often missed is verifying the input stays below the set output voltage.
No scheduled maintenance is required; if the LED indicator is left on it draws about 1mA at 12V output, so disabling the LED reduces quiescent current to 1mA and prolongs battery life.
The output current caps at 0.3A when boosting 3.7V to 12V, so sustained loads above 0.3A will hit the current limit before any thermal constraint appears.
