Internal power cable delivers 3.3V to Raspberry Pi CPU fans across multiple board models
This internal power cable delivers a selectable 3.3 V or 5 V supply to CPU cooling fans fitted to Raspberry Pi 4 B, 3B+, 3B, 2B and B+ boards. It is intended for makers and hobbyists who need a simple way to power and adjust fan speed on these single-board computers.
The cable plugs directly onto the GPIO header pins so no soldering or crimping is required. Builders must set the jumper to the correct voltage before powering on; applying 5 V to a fan rated only for 3.3 V can damage the fan or the Pi.
No published specifications for this item yet.
Power on the Pi and verify the fan spins at the expected speed; a multimeter on the fan pins should read 3.3V when the fan is running.
The cable provides the 3.3V power lead for compatible Raspberry Pi CPU fans; the cooling fan itself is not included and must be bought separately.
