The 677056-001 heatsink is a replacement cooler for the second processor socket in a DL160 Gen8 server. It mounts directly onto the CPU 2 position and includes the thermal interface material. This part is intended for administrators restoring cooling capacity after a failure or during a planned maintenance window.

Direct socket replacement

It replaces the original 668515-001 heatsink when that unit is damaged, missing or showing degraded thermal performance. The upgrade is worth it when the server logs thermal throttling events on CPU 2 or when a second processor is installed without its dedicated cooler. The used-but-working condition means the fins and mounting hardware are intact.

Single-socket thermal headroom

One heatsink handles the thermal load of one additional processor in the DL160 Gen8 chassis.
