External power switch kit for hard-to-reach cases

This kit provides two momentary push-button switches with 1.65 metre cables that connect to a motherboard’s front-panel header. It is intended for home users, computer rooms, bare-board test benches and water-cooled chassis builds where the case power button is difficult to reach. Adhesive stickers let you mount each switch on any convenient flat surface without tools. The package includes two switches and two stickers.

Sustained operation simply passes the motherboard

Each switch is a basic mechanical contact that closes the POWER SW pins when pressed and releases them when let go. There are no active electronics, so the behaviour under continuous or repeated use is identical to the original case button — no latency, no debounce circuitry and no power draw of its own. The 165 cm cable length does not alter the signal integrity for the low-current switching task.

Thermals noise and power are negligible

The switches contain no semiconductors, LEDs or moving parts beyond the button mechanism, so they generate no measurable heat and draw no power from the system. Acoustic output is limited to the tactile click of the actuator, which is comparable to a standard case power button. No additional cooling or power-budget consideration is required.
