The 28 AWG conductors are 60% thinner than standard 24 AWG Cat6a wire, so the cable routes through tight conduit and dense panels with less bulk. Standards-compliant construction

Each reel uses 100% bare copper stranded conductors with four twisted pairs and a spline core separator. Termination notes

Stranded 28 AWG wire demands RJ45 plugs designed for small-gauge stranded conductors; standard 24 AWG plugs will not seat reliably. A ratchet crimper with the correct die set prevents intermittent contacts that cause link flaps. The thin insulation strips cleanly with adjustable strippers, but nicked strands are common if the blade depth is not set precisely.
