This five-pack supplies 2 ft CAT6A S/FTP patch cables in grey for short rack or desk runs. Each cable uses 26 AWG stranded copper with a PVC jacket and moulded strain-relief boots. The shielded twisted-pair construction resists oxidation and corrosion to maintain stable connections. They suit home offices, lab benches or cabinet patching where dense, flexible links are needed.

Upgrade from unshielded CAT5e or CAT6

Replacing unshielded CAT5e or CAT6 patch cords with these CAT6A S/FTP cables adds alien-crosstalk protection and supports 10 Gbps over the full channel. The jump is worth it when PoE+ or PoE++ loads share a bundle with data, or when Wi-Fi 6 access points demand the higher frequency headroom. Existing 10/100/1000 Base-T gear works unchanged, so the swap can be done port by port.

Practical limits of the CAT6A 2 ft S/FTP format

The 2 ft length fits patch-panel-to-switch links inside a single rack but cannot span floor-to-ceiling trays or cross-room drops. Shielded plugs require compatible shielded jacks to maintain the screen path; unshielded ports will leave the drain wire floating. PoE power handling follows the cable's gauge and temperature rating, not the category alone, so very high-power injectors may still need larger conductors.
