This pair of 16U vertical rails supports rack-mountable equipment such as servers, routers, patch panels or PDUs. They are designed for attachment to a desk, wooden frame or other DIY project. The black powder-coated cold rolled steel construction provides a sturdy mounting surface. Each rail spans the full height of a 16U space.

Sustained load behaviour with pre-tapped threads

The rails are pre-tapped with 12-24 threading across their entire length, allowing equipment to be secured in every rack unit without thread wear. Multiple size mounting holes distribute the weight of installed devices evenly along the rail. The cold rolled steel resists bending under continuous heavy loads. Silk-screened unit markings stay legible after repeated installations.

Limits of the 12-24 thread standard

The 12-24 thread pattern fits most standard rack-mount hardware but will not accept metric fasteners or larger imperial threads. Equipment requiring deeper thread engagement than the rail thickness allows cannot be mounted securely. Hole spacing follows standard rack-unit increments, so non-standard chassis hole patterns may not align. No integrated cable management or grounding features are included.
