Compact network video server

The MICON IP-320E iGuard 320E is a two-port network video server in a housing comparable to a deck of cards. It streams video over wired or wireless networks and records images to an attached USB drive or a remote PC hard drive. The included iGuardView client software enables monitoring and recording of multiple cameras on one PC. It is not suited for buyers who need integrated local storage or Power over Ethernet.

Passive operation and low power draw

With no moving parts the unit runs silently and draws minimal power from its external supply. A 10/100 Mbps fast Ethernet connection provides the network link, while a Wi-Fi ready USB port accepts an optional wireless dongle for cable-free placement. The built-in web server handles up to 30 simultaneous viewers and sends email notifications for motion events or scheduled recordings. It does not meet the needs of installations requiring gigabit uplink speeds or fanless industrial certifications.

Expandable camera and sensor support

A built-in USB port allows attachment of additional USB cameras for multi-angle coverage, and an RS-232 port connects external sensors such as door contacts or alarms. The 3.5 – 8 mm varifocal lens lets installers adjust the field of view on site, and the camera supports an audio-enhanced add-on camera for sound monitoring. Buyers who require built-in microphone or speaker hardware will need a different model.
