Wiegand 26/34 to RS485 converter

The Jedrek WG26/34 unit converts Wiegand 26 and 34 signals to RS485 and back again in a single module. It identifies the Wiegand format automatically and requires no manual configuration. A built-in watchdog circuit resets the device if the firmware stalls, keeping the link alive without operator intervention. Power is drawn from a 9 to 15 V supply.

This converter suits installers who need to run Wiegand 26 or 34 data over longer RS485 cabling without replacing existing readers or controllers. Because the Wiegand interface carries no device address, a single unit cannot distinguish multiple readers on the same bus; buyers needing multi-drop topologies must look elsewhere. The fixed 9600 baud, 8-N-1 serial parameters also rule out systems that demand other speeds or parity settings.
