The LUOM enclosure houses a single M.2 NVMe SSD in a clear polycarbonate shell with an aluminium cooling plate. A tool-free slider lets you install or swap drives in under three minutes. The JMS583 bridge connects the PCIe SSD to a USB 3.1 Gen 2 Type-C port rated at 10 Gbps, delivering sequential reads and writes above 950 MB/s with compatible drives. Two cables are included: Type-C to Type-C and USB-A to Type-C.

Suits NVMe M-Key drives up to 2 TB

Builders with 2230, 2242, 2260 or 2280 M-Key NVMe SSDs can add fast external storage to Windows, Linux or macOS machines. The transparent case makes drive identification instant, and the aluminium plate helps manage heat during sustained transfers. Users with SATA-based M.2 drives, mSATA modules, or M.2 PCIe AHCI SSDs cannot use this enclosure because the bridge only supports NVMe M-Key protocol. Buyers needing RAID, hardware encryption or multi-bay expansion should look at a different product class.

Check host port and drive keying before ordering

Verify that your computer offers a USB 3.1 Gen 2 (10 Gbps) Type-C or Type-A port to reach the advertised throughput; older 5 Gbps ports will halve the ceiling. Confirm the SSD is an M-Key NVMe module — B-Key or B+M-Key SATA drives will not function. Ensure the drive length matches one of the four supported form factors and that its capacity does not exceed 2 TB. No driver installation is required on supported operating systems.
