Converter for HDMI Sources

This LUOM adapter converts an HDMI video and audio signal into a composite CVBS output with stereo RCA connectors. It is intended for users connecting modern HDMI source devices such as laptops or set-top boxes to legacy displays, VHS VCRs or DVD recorders that only accept analogue RCA inputs. The unit requires a USB power connection to operate and supports both PAL and NTSC television standards. It is not suitable for streaming sticks, mobile devices or games consoles that lack a standard HDMI output.

Output Resolution and Compatibility

The converter downscales the incoming HDMI signal to standard-definition 480i or 576i CVBS format, so high-definition detail is reduced to match analogue display capabilities. It handles 1080p input signals but cannot pass through progressive or high-definition formats to the RCA outputs. The device provides a single HDMI input and three RCA outputs coloured yellow, white and red for composite video and stereo audio. There is no upscaling or frame-rate conversion beyond the standard-definition targets.

Power Cable and Plug-and-Play Setup

A USB power cable is bundled to supply the required 5 V, and the adapter works without any driver installation on the host device. The compact enclosure measures 67 mm deep, 55 mm wide and 20 mm high, weighing 37 g, so it fits easily behind equipment racks or televisions. The latest scaler technology adjusts brightness, contrast and colour during conversion, but the unit cannot add features such as HDCP stripping or audio format transcoding beyond basic stereo.
