The LR-LINK SFP28-DAC is a 1 metre passive twinax cable built for 25 Gb/s bi-directional links between switches, servers or storage arrays in adjacent racks. It draws under 0.1 watt and runs from a single 3.3 V supply, making it a low-power alternative to optical modules for high-density cabinet connections. The cable is hot-pluggable and rated for an operating case temperature of 0 to 70 °C.

IEEE 802.3by and SFF-8402 Compliance

This cable meets the 25G Ethernet IEEE 802.3by standard and the SFF-8402 SFP28 mechanical and electrical specification, ensuring interoperability with compliant ports from major vendors. AC-coupled inputs and outputs plus enhanced EMI shielding preserve signal integrity across the link. RoHS compliance confirms restricted hazardous substance levels. Passive Twinax Installation and Limits

Insert the SFP28 ends into matching cages until they latch; no drivers or configuration are needed on the cable itself. Because the assembly is passive, it only supports short distances — typically up to 3 metres per the standard — so verify the required reach before ordering. The fixed 1 metre length offers no slack for wider cabinet spacing, and the cable cannot be field-terminated or repaired if the copper conductors are damaged.
