The Lovejoy L110138 is a carbon steel jaw coupling hub designed for power transmission systems. It features a 1 3/8 inch round bore with a standard keyway and set screw locking for secure shaft attachment. This component suits maintenance engineers and OEMs replacing worn hubs on existing L110 coupling assemblies. It connects directly to compatible Buna-N, Urethane, or Hytrel centre elements.

Inch Interface and 5 000 RPM Limit

The hub uses inch-series dimensions with a 3 21/64 inch outside diameter and 4 15/64 inch overall length. Its straight jaw profile accepts only L110-series snap-wrap or solid centre spiders, so metric or other series elements will not fit. Maximum rotational speed is capped at 5 000 RPM, limiting use to moderate-speed drives. Torque capacity depends entirely on the chosen spider material and durometer rating.

Upgrading from Worn Hubs or Lower Horsepower Spiders

This hub replaces damaged or corroded L110 hubs without changing the coupling size or shaft diameter. The jump is worth it when the existing hub keyway is fretted or the set screw threads are stripped. Switching spider materials — from Buna-N at 1.3 hp per 100 RPM up to Hytrel at 3.6 hp — increases torque handling on the same hub, provided the spider matches the application temperature and misalignment needs. It does not suit shafts larger than 1 3/8 inch or applications requiring a clamp-style or keyless locking method.
