USB-C 2.5 Gbps Ethernet Adapter

This USB-C to Ethernet adapter adds a 2.5 Gbps wired network port to laptops or desktops through a USB 3.1 Type-C connection. It supports link speeds of 10, 100, 1000 and 2500 Mbps and draws power directly from the host port. The compact dongle requires no external power supply and implements IEEE 802.3AZ Energy Efficient Ethernet.

Upgrade from 1 Gbps built-in ports

The adapter replaces a standard 1 Gbps Ethernet port when the system only offers USB-C connectivity or when the onboard controller is limited to 1000 Mbps. The jump is worth it on networks that run at 2.5 Gbps and where large file transfers or low-latency streams benefit from the extra headroom. It also adds Wake-on-LAN support to platforms that lack the feature on their native port.

2.5 Gbps headroom for local traffic

The link comfortably handles multi-gigabit LAN traffic, NAS backups and high-bitrate media streaming at up to 2500 Mbps. IPv4 and IPv6 checksum offload reduces host processor load during sustained throughput. The adapter runs out of bandwidth when the upstream USB 3.1 bus or the switch port cannot sustain 2.5 Gbps, and it cannot exceed the 2500 Mbps physical layer rate.
