Dual 2.5-inch bay adapter

The LORDWORLD ToughArmor MB492SKL-B fits two 2.5 SATA or SAS drives into a single external 3.5 drive bay. It accepts drives from 5 mm to 9.5 mm thick and supports SATA 3.0 at 6 Gbps as well as SAS 3.0 at 12 Gbps on a single channel. The rugged full-metal construction is aimed at enterprise and server environments where physical security and hot-swap capability matter. Backward compatibility with 3 Gbps SATA hosts is included.

Build integration

The unit mounts into any standard external 3.5 bay and presents two independent drive trays that slide out for tool-free maintenance. A metal key lock secures each tray against unauthorised removal while a thumb screw adds vibration resistance for mobile or rack deployments. Full SATA hot-swap support means drives can be exchanged without powering down the system, freeing up internal bays and cabling for other components. A SAS host connection is required to use SAS drives at their native speed.

Security and service features

The dual-lock mechanism combines a keyed lock for data security with a captive thumb screw that prevents tray ejection under shock. Removable trays simplify drive replacement and allow quick cloning or diagnostics outside the chassis.
