Solid copper Cat6 riser cable

The LOGICO C6EU2803 is a 1000 ft bulk Cat6 UTP cable built with four solid annealed bare copper pairs. It is rated to 550 MHz and carries a CMR riser rating with a fire-retardant PVC jacket. The blue pull-box design suits installers running voice, data, video or security links through vertical shafts in commercial or residential buildings. EIA/TIA 568 compliance confirms the cable meets Category 6 performance requirements.

Consistent throughput on long runs

Solid conductors keep insertion loss low across the full 305 metre length, so sustained gigabit traffic holds steady without the degradation seen in shorter stranded patch leads. The 550 MHz bandwidth headroom absorbs alien crosstalk from adjacent bundles in dense cable trays. Riser-rated jacketing resists flame spread between floors, maintaining signal integrity where plenum cable is not required. Installers can pull the full reel without mid-span splices that would add return loss.

Limits of the Cat6 UTP standard

Unshielded twisted pair cannot reject external electromagnetic interference the way shielded categories do, so routing near heavy motors or fluorescent ballasts risks errors. The 550 MHz rating supports 1 Gbps Ethernet up to 100 metres, but 10 Gbps operation is limited to shorter distances not covered by the Cat6 specification. EIA/TIA 568 does not define performance above 550 MHz, so frequencies beyond that are outside the verified envelope.

Not for shielded or plenum needs

Buyers who require foil or braid shielding for high-EMI environments cannot use this UTP construction. Projects demanding CMP plenum-rated jackets for air-handling spaces must select a different cable type. The solid-core design is unsuitable for repeated flexing or patch-cord applications where stranded conductors are needed.
