Anti-Splatter Spray for Welding

Loctite SF 7900 is an aerosol anti-splatter agent designed for metal fabrication shops and maintenance teams running plasma torch or cutter processes. The silicone-free formula deposits a white boron nitride coating that stops spatter from sticking to jigs, fixtures, contact tips and welding nozzles. It ships as a 9.5 oz aerosol can ready for immediate use on the production floor.

Capacity and Coverage Limits

Each 9.5 oz can delivers enough film for multiple shifts of light to medium spatter protection on typical fixturing and nozzle surfaces. Coverage drops off when parts are heavily coated or when high-amperage runs produce thick, molten droplets that overwhelm the thin barrier. Very large workpieces or continuous automated cells will consume cans quickly and may need bulk fluid alternatives.

Thermals, Noise and Power Draw

The propane and butane propellant gives a flash point of -4 degrees F, so the can must be kept away from ignition sources and stored below 150 degrees F. Application is silent apart from the spray hiss and adds no electrical load to the welding circuit. The dry film remains stable up to the rated maximum temperature, leaving no residue that burns off or creates fume during subsequent passes.
