SAS/SATA 6.0 Gb/s interface and single 80 mm fan

Each bay supports SAS I/II and SATA I/II/III drives at up to 6.0 Gb/s, so the backplane does not limit the native speed of modern mechanical drives. RAID functionality requires a separate RAID controller; the cage itself only passes the signals through. Cooling relies on one 80 mm fan, so thermal headroom depends on drive count, workload and chassis airflow. The aluminium body assists conduction but cannot replace adequate case ventilation.
