Four 3.5-inch hot-swap bays
The iStarUSA BPU-340HD-BLUE fits four 3.5-inch drives into three standard 5.25-inch front-panel slots. It accepts both 2.5-inch and 3.5-inch SAS I/II/III and SATA I/II/III drives with transfer rates up to 12Gb/s. A blue anodised aluminium front bezel and matching handles give a distinctive look. The unit ships with four SATA cables included.
Three 5.25-inch slots freed up
Installation requires three adjacent 5.25-inch drive bays and a single 80mm cooling fan mounted at the rear. The aluminium chassis uses conductive dissipation grooves to spread heat from the drives. A fan-speed control switch lets you balance airflow against noise. RAID support is available when a separate RAID controller is added to the host system.
Sustained thermal management
Under continuous operation the 80mm fan and grooved aluminium body maintain drive temperatures within safe limits. Power, drive-activity, fan-status and high-temperature LEDs provide immediate visual feedback. The hot-swap mechanism allows drive replacement without powering down the server. Compatibility extends to 14TB hard drives for high-capacity arrays.
