The iStarUSA BPU-230-SA-Silver converts two standard 5.25" drive bays into three hot-swap 3.5" drive slots. It accepts 2.5" and 3.5" SAS or SATA hard drives running at up to 6.0 Gb/s. The aluminium chassis and handle double as a heatsink with conductive dissipation grooves. A 70 mm fan with speed control provides front-to-back airflow for thermal management.

Build Integration Requirements

The cage mounts into any enclosure that provides two adjacent 5.25" bays and supplies power to the backplane and fan. It frees up internal 3.5" mounting points by relocating drives to the front-accessible bays. RAID 0, 1, 1+0 or 5 arrays are supported only when a separate RAID controller is connected to the backplane.
