Versatile OM3 Duplex Fiber

This 2 m aqua duplex patch cable uses OM3 multimode fiber with LC connectors on both ends. It is built for interconnect and cross-connect tasks in data centres, telecom rooms, entrance facilities and at the desk. The bend-insensitive design reduces attenuation when cables are routed around tight corners. Each unit ships with a factory test report.

UPC Connectors and Bend-Insensitive Build

Ultra Physical Contact ferrules give a finer end-face finish and lower return loss than standard polishes. Corning ultra-pure glass cores provide low attenuation and high bandwidth for reliable links. The 2.0 mm jacket is OFNR rated for in-building riser runs. Bend-insensitive multimode fiber maintains performance when twisted or bent during installation and maintenance.

OM3 Distance Limits for High-Speed Ethernet

OM3 multimode fiber supports 10 G Ethernet over short to medium ranges and is optimised for 40 G and 100 G Ethernet inside data centres. Reach decreases as data rates rise, so 40 G and 100 G links require shorter runs than 10 G. The 50/125 µm core suits high-bandwidth multimode equipment but is not compatible with single-mode infrastructure.
