This Intellinet Cat8.1 S/FTP patch cable is built for 40 Gbps links at 2 GHz in rack environments. It targets administrators wiring Top of Rack or Middle of Row runs where certified Class I performance is required. The 14 ft stranded construction suits short, flexible connections between active gear. It is not for installers who need in-wall solid-core cable or longer horizontal runs.

Sustained throughput

The cable carries 40GBase-T and 25GBase-T continuously across its full 14 ft length without the signal degradation seen on lesser categories under load. Multi-layer S/FTP shielding — foil around each pair plus an overall aluminum braid — suppresses near-end crosstalk when many cables run parallel in dense bundles. Pure bare copper conductors maintain low insertion loss during prolonged high-frequency transmission. It does not serve applications that exceed the 2000 MHz bandwidth ceiling.

Thermal noise power

Passive copper construction adds no active heat or acoustic noise to the rack, and the 24 AWG conductors keep resistive loss minimal for PoE++ loads up to IEEE 802.3bt. Gold-plated contacts rated at 50 micro-inch resist corrosion that could increase resistance over time. Snag-free boots protect the latch during repeated re-seating, preserving consistent contact force. The assembly draws no power of its own and requires no cooling allowance.
