This 2.5-inch SATA enclosure converts a SATA SSD or HDD into an external USB 3.2 drive for laptops, desktops, TVs and consoles. It accepts 7 mm and 9.5 mm drives up to 4 TB capacity. The black ABS housing includes an RGB strip that cycles colours during data transfer and shifts to a steady monochrome pattern when idle.

Tool-free install with UASP caveat

The drive slides into the tray without screws and connects via the internal SATA bridge; an EVA foam pad cushions the drive inside the 131 x 80 x 14 mm shell. USB 3.2 Gen 1 delivers up to 5 Gbps, and UASP can raise sustained throughput by roughly 30 percent, but only when both the host controller and the drive firmware support the protocol. Older USB 2.0 or 1.1 ports fall back to legacy speeds automatically.

Steady throughput under load

The onboard controller provides over-current, over-voltage and overheating protection, allowing the enclosure to maintain 5 Gbps signalling during extended copy jobs without thermal throttling. Backward compatibility with USB 2.0 and 1.1 ensures the drive remains accessible on legacy ports, albeit at reduced bandwidth. ABS construction and the internal foam pad keep vibration low during continuous operation.
