This six-foot extension cord uses 16/3 SJTW vinyl construction rated at 13 amps and 125 volts for a 1625 watt maximum. The three-prong grounded plug and socket suit household appliances, tools, string lights and heavy-duty equipment. ETL and cETL listing confirms compliance with North American safety standards. The cord is supplied new in black.

16 AWG gauge sets the practical current limit

At 16 AWG the conductors are rated for 13 amps continuous; drawing more will exceed the cable's thermal design and void the safety certification. The 125 volt rating restricts use to standard North American mains circuits. The SJTW jacket is rated IP65 waterproof, flame-resistant and cold-resistant to minus 50 Celsius, but the cord is not rated for permanent outdoor installation or burial. Voltage drop over longer runs is not characterised for this length.

1625 watts covers most household

The 1625 watt rating comfortably handles space heaters, power tools, lighting strings and office equipment within the 13 amp limit. It will not support 15 amp appliances such as large air compressors or 1875 watt heaters that require 14 AWG or 12 AWG cord. Builders needing higher current or longer distances should select a heavier gauge. The strain-relief ends survive 20000 bend cycles and each unit passes a 2500 volt high-voltage test before shipment.
