Two-camera PTZ bundle

The FoMaKo FMK30SDI bundle supplies two 30x optical zoom PTZ cameras and a KC-608 network controller for multi-angle production. Each camera delivers 1080p video at frame rates including 60, 59.94, 50, 30, 29.97 and 25 fps, with 720p options at the same rates. H.264 and H.265 compression reduces bandwidth for IP streaming to platforms such as YouTube and Facebook. The package targets houses of worship, education, conferences and live-event teams that need synchronised camera operation from a single keyboard.

Installation and common issues

Both cameras support PoE so a single Ethernet cable can carry power, control and video, simplifying cable runs to the controller or network switch. The KC-608 connects via RS-232, RS-485 or IP using VISCA and Pelco-D/P protocols, and its 4D joystick with 3-inch LCD provides direct pan, tilt, zoom and preset recall. Typical problems include mismatched VISCA address settings between cameras and controller, incorrect protocol selection on the RS-485 bus, and network firewall rules blocking the camera's streaming ports.

IP streaming limits

The cameras encode at up to 1080p60 using H.264 or H.265, so available upload bandwidth must sustain the chosen bitrate for each simultaneous stream. The KC-608 manages up to 232 cameras over IP, but practical limits depend on network switch capacity and controller processing load. SDI and HDMI outputs are uncompressed, so cable length is restricted by the respective signal standards rather than by IP bandwidth. Latency introduced by encoding and network transit varies with resolution, compression profile and network congestion.
