Installation and Common Issues

Cameras mount on walls or ceilings using the metal housing brackets and connect to the DVR through BNC cables that carry both video and power. The DVR provides HDMI and VGA outputs for local monitor viewing while the XMeye and VMS apps handle remote access on phones and PCs. A frequent stumbling point is configuring port forwarding on the router so that live view and playback work from outside the local network. Motion detection zones and email alerts also require careful tuning to avoid false triggers from moving foliage or lighting changes.

Storage Capacity and Recording Limits

The supplied 2TB SATA drive stores footage encoded in H.265 which reduces file size compared with older codecs. Recording modes include manual, scheduled and motion triggered capture so the drive lasts longer when cameras only record on activity. The DVR accepts a single SATA drive up to 8TB giving headroom for longer retention or higher bitrate streams. When the drive fills the oldest files are overwritten unless footage is backed up to a USB flash drive or external USB hard drive through the front panel port.
