HDMI to AHD Converter for CCTV Systems

This converter translates an HDMI signal into an AHD format suitable for CCTV recorders and monitors. It accepts standard-definition and high-definition inputs up to 1080p at 60 Hz. The unit outputs AHD video at 720p or 1080p at 30 Hz, selectable via a push button. A built-in loop-out repeater extends the AHD signal up to 500 metres over coaxial cable.

Installers Integrating HDMI Sources into AHD

The device suits security installers who need to display HDMI sources such as PCs or media players on existing AHD DVRs or monitors. It also fits upgrades where legacy coaxial cabling must be reused for longer runs. It is not for users requiring 1080p output at 50 or 60 Hz, nor for applications needing SDI or IP camera integration without additional hardware.

Signal Capacity and Distance Headroom

The converter comfortably handles common HDMI resolutions including 480i, 576i, 720p at 50 or 60 Hz, 1080i at 50 or 60 Hz, and 1080p at 25, 30, 50 or 60 Hz. Output is limited to 30 Hz at either 720p or 1080p. The repeater function maintains signal integrity up to 500 metres on AHD loop-out, beyond which a further repeater would be required.
