Pure copper heatsink with 401 W/m·k conductivity and silicone thermal pad cools 2280 NVMe SSDs in slim 2 mm profile
The EN-Labs M.2 copper heatsink measures 70x20x2mm and includes a thermal pad plus three rubber mounting rings. It fits NVMe and NGFF drives in the 2280 form factor. The slim 2mm profile suits laptops and other tight spaces where taller coolers cannot be installed.
Adding this heatsink replaces running an M.2 SSD with no dedicated cooling. The jump is worth it when sustained workloads push the controller into thermal throttling. Pure copper conducts heat at 401W/mk, far above the 237W/mk of aluminium, so heat moves into the fins more quickly.
The 70x20mm footprint covers most 2280 drive controllers and NAND packages. It comfortably handles typical gaming and productivity loads that would otherwise raise temperatures. In extended write-heavy scenarios or poorly ventilated chassis the thin 2mm mass can saturate, limiting further temperature reduction.
No published specifications for this item yet.
The copper block measures 70 by 20 millimetres and is 2 millimetres thick, matching the standard 2280 footprint so it sits across the controller and memory packages.
Peel the thermal pad, place it on the SSD, set the copper heatsink on top, then stretch the three supplied rubber rings over the assembly — snug but not compressed flat.
Swap the pad whenever you remove the heatsink or if SSD temperatures rise noticeably after a year of continuous use.
