What the EN-Labs HD24KABSW does

This HDMI 2.0 bi-directional switch lets you route signals between two sources and one display or one source and two displays. It supports resolutions up to 3840 x 2160 at 60 Hz, 1080p at 120 Hz, 1080p 3D at 60 Hz, and lower formats such as 1080i, 720p and 480i/p. The unit draws a maximum of 15 mA and requires no external power supply, so it suits setups where a spare outlet is unavailable.

Sustained-load behaviour

The switch passes HDCP 2.2 and HDR metadata continuously while operating within its 3.4 Gbps video amplifier bandwidth and 340 MHz rating. Two LEDs indicate the active port at all times, and the mechanical button toggles instantly without signal reset. Because the second display never receives a signal while the first is active, there is no contention or bandwidth sharing between outputs during extended sessions.

Check before ordering

Verify that your source devices and display accept HDMI 2.0 signalling and that your cables are rated for the 10.2 Gbps data rate the switch forwards. The device cannot drive two screens simultaneously, so it will not suit applications requiring simultaneous output. Confirm that your equipment operates within the listed resolution and refresh combinations — 4096 x 2160 at 60 Hz, 3840 x 2160 at 24, 30 or 60 Hz, and 1080p at 120 Hz — to avoid handshake issues.
