Anodized Aluminium Heatsink Pair
This pack supplies two low-profile aluminium heatsinks finished in anodised black. Each unit measures 28 x 28 x 20 mm and weighs about 30 g. They are designed for DIY cooling of motherboard chipsets such as northbridge and southbridge controllers. The parts can also be attached to graphics-card components, power transistors, FETs, ICs, voltage regulators or small audio amplifiers.
Replaces Stock Clip-On Spreaders
The heatsinks upgrade from basic flat metal spreaders or bare silicon by adding finned surface area for better passive dissipation. The improvement is worthwhile when the original cooler is missing, damaged or too tall for the available clearance. Installation requires thermal adhesive, which is not included, so buyers must source a suitable glue or epoxy separately.
28 mm Square Footprint With 20 mm Height
The 28 mm square base covers typical chipset packages while the 20 mm fin stack provides extra radiating area without exceeding a low-profile envelope. This size comfortably handles chipset and VRM loads in confined spaces such as small-form-factor boards or multi-GPU slots. It runs out of capacity on high-wattage CPUs, large GPU cores or any component exceeding the 28 mm mounting footprint.

Questions about this item
Will the 28 x 28 x 20 mm footprint clear my motherboard's chipset area?
The heatsink measures 28 mm long, 28 mm wide and 20 mm tall, so compare those dimensions with the clear space around your northbridge or southbridge chip before buying.
What is the correct way to attach the heatsink using thermal adhesive?
Clean the chip surface with isopropyl alcohol, apply a thin, even layer of heatsink adhesive glue (not supplied), press the finned side down firmly, and let the glue cure fully before powering on.
Does the anodised finish need any upkeep over time?
The black anodised aluminium surface is corrosion-resistant and requires no maintenance; simply blow dust out of the fins with compressed air if airflow becomes restricted.
