Extended Battery Module for 24 VDC UPS Systems

The CyberPower BP24VL2U01 is a rack-mountable extended battery module designed to add runtime to compatible 24 VDC uninterruptible power supply units. It uses sealed lead-acid chemistry and delivers 50 A of output current at 24 V DC. The unit operates from a 120 V input through a NEMA 5-15P connection and carries UL, CSA and FCC approvals for North American installations.

Integration Requirements and Space Savings

This module occupies 2U of rack space measuring 3.41" x 17.05" x 11.42" and weighs 36.82 lbs, so the rack must support that load and depth. A hot-swappable design allows battery replacement without powering down the connected UPS, freeing the administrator from scheduling downtime for routine maintenance. The replaceable battery cartridge is the RB1290X2H, which slides in from the front for quick service.

Runtime Capacity and Environmental Limits

Four internal 12 V 9 Ah cells provide the energy reserve, recharging from empty to 90 % in four hours. The unit is rated for continuous operation between 32 °F and 104 °F (0 °C to 40 °C) with non-condensing humidity up to 90 %, while storage tolerates 5 °F to 113 °F (-15 °C to 45 °C) and 95 % humidity. Buyers needing longer autonomous runtime than a single module provides, or those whose UPS operates outside the 100–125 V input window, should look for alternative configurations.
