Five-pack activated carbon filters

This pack supplies five replacement filters for bench-top fume extractors used during soldering, brazing or light welding. Each filter is approximately 0.4 inches thick and combines urethane foam with activated carbon to trap solder, flux and chemical fumes. They suit electronics assembly, jewellery making and stained-glass work where a portable extractor is already in place. Buyers who need a larger industrial filtration system or a self-contained extractor unit will not be served by these filters alone.

Sustained absorption performance

In continuous use the carbon media captures roughly 80 percent of harmful fumes passing through the extractor fan, maintaining a breathable workspace over long sessions. The foam-and-carbon construction resists clogging longer than plain foam pads, so airflow stays steadier across a typical shift. After about three to four months of regular operation the pores saturate and the filter must be swapped to keep absorption at the rated level. Workshops that run extractors around the clock should plan for more frequent change-outs than the standard interval.

Filter compatibility limits

The filters are sized for standard portable fume-extractor housings that accept a 0.4-inch thick cartridge; they will not fit oversize industrial housings or undersize pen-style extractors. No adhesive or frame is included, so the host unit must provide its own retention method. They are single-use consumables and cannot be washed or regenerated once the carbon is spent. Users who require HEPA-grade particulate capture or gas-specific chemistries beyond general solder fumes need a different filter class.
