The Computar Ganz IRL-S6-POE is a short-range infrared illuminator built for IP surveillance cameras that need dedicated night-time lighting. It draws power through a PoE+ network connection, removing the need for a separate power supply at the mounting point. The unit is rated IP67 for all-weather outdoor use and constructed from anodized aluminium with a pressure equalisation vent.

Adjustable Photocell and Telemetry Control

A built-in photocell on top of the housing switches the infrared LEDs on and off automatically with ambient light levels, while a photocell-following contact and telemetry input allow remote or scheduled switching from the camera system. Internal potentiometers let installers fine-tune the photocell sensitivity and the illumination intensity to match the scene.

IEEE 802.3af Power and 60º Beam Limit

The illuminator operates within the IEEE 802.3af standard, so it requires a PoE+ switch or injector capable of delivering the necessary high power over the Ethernet cable. Its fixed 60º beam angle covers a distance of 49 feet, which restricts use to shorter perimeters or entryways rather than long-range boundary monitoring.
