Two-pack 10 ft Cat5e cables

This two-pack supplies a pair of 10 ft Cat5e patch cords with RJ45 plugs on both ends. Each cable uses stranded copper-clad aluminium wire built to the 568B wiring standard and a flexible black PVC jacket. They are rated for 350 MHz bandwidth and support data rates up to 1 Gigabit per second. The gold-plated 8P8C connectors aim to reduce contact resistance.

Check port type and required length

Verify that every device you intend to connect presents an 8P8C RJ45 jack; the plugs will not fit narrower or proprietary ports. Measure the actual cable run between outlets, including any routing around skirting boards or through trunking, to confirm that 10 ft provides enough slack without excess coil. The cables are unshielded UTP, so avoid running them parallel to mains power cables or fluorescent ballasts where interference could degrade the signal.

Sustained throughput on long runs

The 350 MHz rating and Cat5e twisted-pair construction maintain gigabit speeds over the full 10 ft length during continuous transfers such as large file backups or uninterrupted video streams. CCA conductors have higher resistance than solid copper, so voltage drop on PoE loads is greater than on full-copper equivalents; expect the cable to warm slightly under maximum PoE current. The PVC jacket resists abrasion but is not rated for outdoor or plenum use, so prolonged exposure to UV or high heat will degrade the insulation over time.
