This three-foot extension cord connects a NEMA 5-15P plug to a 5-15R outlet, adding reach between a wall outlet, power strip or surge protector and the existing cord of a computer, monitor, appliance or shop equipment. The 16 AWG SJT-jacketed cable carries 13 A at 125 V and uses a true three-wire grounded copper construction with moulded plugs and strain relief. It is UL Listed, CSA certified under file E210037 and RoHS compliant for indoor use only.

Indoor-Rated SJT Jacket For Fixed Installations

The SJT jacket is rated for indoor environments such as offices, labs, workshops and homes; it is not suitable for wet or outdoor locations where an SJTW jacket would be required. The male plug inserts into any standard three-prong receptacle while the female end accepts the device’s original power cord, freeing the builder from repositioning furniture or equipment to reach a distant outlet. No additional adapters or converters are needed for typical desktop, monitor or peripheral connections.

Passive Cable With No Active Cooling Or Power Draw

As a passive copper extension, the cord generates no heat of its own and adds no audible noise to the system; thermal performance depends entirely on the connected load staying within the 13 A rating. The 16 AWG conductors are sized for continuous 13 A service, so voltage drop over the three-foot length remains minimal for computers and similar 125 V equipment. Builders needing higher current for servers, PDUs or 20 A gear should select a 14 AWG or 12 AWG cord instead.
