Slot Conversion and Extension

This BUCIER riser cable converts a right-facing onboard M.2 Key M slot into a 180-degree PCIe 4.0 X16 slot with a 300mm extension. It is designed for builders who need to relocate a graphics card or PCIe adapter away from the motherboard. The cable only works with M.2 M-Key PCIe slots and does not support M.2 SATA slots.

Build Integration and Power Requirements

The cable uses a copper conductor and requires a 12V SATA power port on the system to deliver up to 75W of power. It frees up space inside compact chassis such as Mini PCs or servers by extending the slot connection. High-power graphics cards will still require their own dedicated power connectors because of the 75W limit on this riser.

Capacity and Headroom

The link achieves a maximum PCIe 4.0 X4 speed of 8GB/s when the CPU, M.2 slot, and graphics card all support PCIe 4.0. Intel CPUs below the 11th generation cannot reach this bandwidth. The 75W power ceiling means the riser comfortably handles low-to-mid-range cards but runs out of headroom for high-power GPUs without auxiliary power.
