This 200-foot CAT5e cable is built for outdoor underground runs without conduit. The solid-copper conductors and water-block construction resist moisture ingress, while the UV-rated jacket withstands long-term sun exposure. It targets installers wiring IP cameras, access points or network switches between buildings where aerial or indoor cable would fail.

Supported data rates and headroom

The cable is verified for 10, 100 and 1000 Mbps Ethernet as well as 16 Mbps Token Ring and 155 Mbps ATM, so it handles standard surveillance streams and general LAN traffic with margin. Gigabit performance holds across the full 200-foot length, but 10 GbE and multi-gigabit standards are beyond the CAT5e specification and will not operate reliably.

Standards compliance and practical limits

ETL listing to TIA-568-C.2 and ISO/IEC 11801 confirms the cable meets Category 5e transmission requirements for the stated protocols. The CMX rating authorises direct burial and outdoor use, yet it does not substitute for a riser or plenum rating inside occupied spaces. No connectors are fitted, so termination with compatible plugs or patch panels is required before use.
