Belkin 15 ft Cat5e Patch Cable

This 15 ft black patch cable connects computers, routers and switches using RJ45 male connectors on both ends. It is built to Cat5e specifications and supports 100 Mbps networking for everyday home and office use. The snagless boot protects the locking tab during insertion and removal. The unshielded twisted-pair construction keeps the cable light and flexible.

Snagless Design and Strain Relief

The moulded snagless boot prevents the RJ45 latch from catching on adjacent cables or panel edges when routing through tight spaces. A built-in strain relief stops the cable jacket from bending sharply at the connector, reducing stress on the internal termination. Installation is a simple push-click action with no tools required. The main limitation is the fixed 15 ft length, which cannot be shortened or extended without adding couplers.

Cat5e Bandwidth and Distance Limits

Rated at 100 MHz, the cable handles 10 and 100 Base-T Ethernet up to the standard 100 m channel limit, so the 15 ft run is well within specification. It does not support Gigabit or higher speeds because the Cat5e standard caps performance at 100 Mbps. Shielding is absent, so the cable should be kept away from strong electrical interference sources. For multi-gigabit or PoE+ deployments a higher category cable is required.
