Two-computer USB-C switch for shared peripherals

This device lets two USB-C computers share four USB 3.2 Gen 2 ports at up to 10Gbps. A button on the unit or the included remote toggles the active host instantly. It is designed for keyboard, mouse, printer and external hard drive sharing between a work laptop and a personal machine. Audio devices are not recommended on the USB ports.

10Gbps interface limits and power constraints

The four downstream ports run at USB 3.2 Gen 2 10Gbps, moving a 1 GB file in roughly 1.5 seconds. Maximum output current is 2.4 A, but actual power depends on the host computer's USB-C supply; older USB 3.0 or 2.0 host ports may deliver less. No external power adapter is required for typical keyboard, mouse and hard drive loads.

Four-port capacity with two-host headroom

Four devices stay connected simultaneously while only one computer accesses them at a time. The switch handles multiple high-speed drives and input devices without extra power, but it cannot drive monitors or serve more than two hosts. Buyers who need video switching or more than two connected computers should look elsewhere.
