Cat6 Plenum 1000 ft bulk cable

This Cat6 plenum-rated cable comes in a 1000 ft pull box with sequential foot markings. It uses 23 AWG conductors arranged in four twisted pairs and supports bandwidth up to 550 MHz. The grey jacket meets CMP fire-safety requirements for installation in air-handling spaces above suspended ceilings or below raised floors. A centre spline separates the pairs to reduce cross-talk and resists kinks during pulls.

Upgrade from Cat5e or non-plenum runs

Replacing older Cat5e or standard riser cable with this plenum Cat6 enables Gigabit and 10-Gigabit Ethernet performance where building codes demand CMP-rated jacket material. The higher 550 MHz bandwidth headroom is worthwhile when you need certified performance for 10 GbE up to the distances allowed by the standard. If your project does not require plenum rating or 10 GbE, a lower-category or riser cable may be sufficient.

Verify plenum requirement and connector plan

Confirm that local fire codes require CMP-rated cable for the intended pathway before ordering. The bulk cable terminates with RJ45 connectors on both ends, so ensure you have compatible keystone jacks, patch panels or field-termination plugs rated for 23 AWG solid conductors. Check that your cable pathway can accommodate the 1000 ft length and that pulling tension limits are observed during installation.
